Campus Development
Siberian Federal University is located in Krasnoyarsk — the largest cultural, economic and educational center of Eastern Siberia. Krasnoyarsk is the administrative center of the Krasnoyarsk Territory (the second largest subject of Russia). The city is situated on the banks of the Yenisei River, one of the largest rivers in the world (with a length of almost 3.5 thousand kilometers). Regional center is located in the area of temperate sharply continental climate. The climate conditions in the city are milder due to the influence of the Yenisei that does not freeze up in the winder. Most of the territory of Siberian Federal University is located in a forested area of the city of Krasnoyarsk in the vicinity of the Krasnoyarsk Scientific Center, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Academic buildings and dormitories of the university are surrounded by natural forest lands. The sports facilities are placed in the birchwood — ski resorts, stadiums, ski trails. Siberian Federal University occupies a special place in the development plans of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Intellectual center of the "big Krasnoyarsk" must have an appropriate infrastructure, so initially it was envisaged to establish the university campus. It covers an area of 650 hectares, the venue includes 26 study and laboratory buildings and 29 dormitories. Some of them have been built with an active participation of private business and the territory. So, an electronic library of SibFU opened its doors in 2008. Library users have access to more than 50 million electronic books and documents. SibFU library resources are available not only for students, but also for all residents of the territory. In addition, it is connected to 100% schools and colleges of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Development of International Collaboration
SibFU has concluded more than 110 contracts with various universities and research institutions in 34 countries. Both international and Russian students have opportunities to participate in scholarship programmes that support international academic mobility. To date, SibFU has 939 foreign students from 45 countries enrolled in various programs, undergoing training or internship, or participating in exchange programs. The majority of these students are from the CIS. The university also has enrolled and unenrolled students from Nigeria, Ecuador, Vietnam, Antigua and Barbuda, Colombia, Laos, Mongolia, Syria, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine. The University regularly receives students from Japan, Spain, the Czech Republic, China, and Germany, who come for study and internships. Our university has more than 30 foreign professors and researchers from 9 countries; each year SibFU welcomes more than 150 visiting foreign professors. SibFU has 160 international agreements with 36 countries. There are 18 educational programs with international accreditation from the European Council for Business Education (ECBE). SibFU KVN League KVN, abbreviated from “clUb of the Cheerful and Quick-witted” in Russian, is a popular Russian humour TV show and stand-up competition where teams (usually college students) compete by giving funny answers to questions and showing prepared sketches. For those who want to play KVN we have more good news: every autumn there will be a SibFU KVN League Festival held, which is open for all teams of university students. The Cheerful and Quick-witted only need to register in advance and prepare a funny 5-minute speech fitting in the format of the introductory stage of the competition. Show-contest “ProShU Slova” Even sooner you can try yourself by performing in the traditional show-contest for 1st-year students “ProShU Slova”. The event will be held in the second half of October at the Krasnoyarsk Musical Theater. Newcomers start their preparation for the SchoolS’ stage of the contest at the beginning of September. Sport The SibFU’S modern sports infrastructure includes fitness centers, sports facilities, equipped with swimming pools, stadiums, 3 ski resort facilities, and 13 sports halls. Articles are published in the chronological order after they have gone the procedure of reviewing, which is “hard and FaSt” according to the international requirements. Every article is considered by at least two highly qualified specialists of the given direction, those who have a wide experience of publishing in well-known journals. Publication is free of charge for all authors. Main language of publications, which are accepted to the Journal, is English. Nevertheless, the Journal is bi-lingual; it means that we afford authors an opportunity to choose whom they address their articles to: the world scientific society, which speaks and writes in English, which, at present time, is the international language, or by some reason they wish to limit their readership only by the Russianspeaking audience.
