Mordovia State University which now has the status of National Research University is a federal academic institution of higher education offering the full range of academic programs for undergraduate and postgraduate students, among its core activities are basic and applied research, further training courses and improved qualification of teaching staff and scientists . It is the main institution of higher education in the province . By the Federal Government Decree of 20 May 2010, Ogarev Mordovia State University was granted the category “National Research University ”.

It was founded in 1931 and gradually expanded and was granted university status in 1957 .

Ogarev Mordovia State University is located in Saransk, the capital of the Republic of Mordovia , 620 kilometers southeast of Moscow . With 28 academic buildings, 12 residence halls (9 for undergraduate students and 3 for graduate students and faculty)

The leading classical university in Russia with a history dating back 90 years. Throughout its existence, it has rightfully earned the title of the region's center for education, science and culture .

The cornerstone of the scientific and innovative development of the University is a wide range of basic and applied research efforts, the availability of a highly effective system of higher education that includes all levels of higher education: bachelor's degrees, 5/6-year specialized diplomas in medicine. Master's and postgraduate degrees, clinical residencies, an advanced retraining system, continuing education and qualification improvement programmes and civil engineering .

Ogarev State University Mordovia 28,000 students from 71 regions of Russia and 50 countries around the world, 295 degree programs in natural sciences, engineering and humanities, 127 laboratories and research centers , including 3 resource-sharing centers .

Ogarev State University Mordovia offers classes at all levels of higher education and is also active in the areas of secondary vocational education and general secondary education;

The individual educational path allows the learner not only to obtain the basic academic specialization, but also to acquire additional competencies in adjacent areas of knowledge, for example .

- The project-based learning mechanism seeks to form entrepreneurial thinking;

– The university invests in joint education through international dual degree programmes;

– A number of programs are taught in English .

The university is a combination of science and education that allows, in addition to teaching, the pursuit of basic and applied research .

Ogarev State University Mordovia is building a digital infrastructure that connects all academic buildings and dormitories and provides broadband Internet access, including WiFi .  The main processes related to learning, research, innovation and administrative activities are carried out through the Electronic Information and Education Environment (EIEE) , which can be accessed even through mobile applications .

The university's research efforts are aligned with the priorities of the Science and Technology Development (SSTD) Strategy. and Russia's National Technology Initiative (NTI).

Mordovia State University as a national research university, by pursuing research, learning and enlightenment, in partnership with leaders, has set its mission in creating a new reality, shaping an active and creative personality oriented towards entrepreneurial thinking, and ensuring the global competitiveness of the region and the country .

 

The university's future vision is to become a leading center of education and research and an engine of social and economic development of the overall region through the use of digital technologies in the new knowledge economy, to create an effective adaptive model for the comprehensive development of the student's personality , ensuring its global competitiveness in a dynamically changing world . The university should be open to everyone and unique for each student .

 

The university's development goal until 2030 is based on the core value - the uniqueness and individuality of each person .

 

The integrated strategic goal of the university is to create a competitive university in the global scientific and educational field by obtaining new knowledge, creating new products and technologies, and forming an entrepreneurial culture; A university that provides solutions to the problems of personnel and social, economic and technological development in the region and the country .

Ogarev State University Mordovia :

 

 

There are 127 laboratories and research centers at the university equipped with research equipment of specific international standards, including 3 resource-sharing centers: “Materials Science”, “Optical Engineering Metrology”, and “Electronic Engineering and Magnetic Photonics”. In order to commercialize intellectual property, there are 17 small innovative enterprises, i.e. university spin-offs .

 

For example but not limited to :

 

The Environmental Testing Laboratory was launched in partnership with the Russian Research Institute of Aviation Materials at the headquarters of the GV Akimov Gelendzhik Environmental Testing Center;

 

Laboratory of Optical Material Technologies, created jointly with the Prokhorov Institute of General Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences;

 

Science and Education Center “Modern Laser, Solid and Fiber Physics”, jointly created by the Institute of Applied Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Lobachevsky State University in Nizhny Nogrorod;

 

The university-owned research laboratory based at Technopark “Synthesis and Processing of SiC Single Crystals”;

 

LIA LICS Joint International Laboratory on “Critical and Supercritical Phenomena in Functional Electronics, Acoustics and Fluids”;

 

Interregional Science Center for Finno-Ugric Studies .

Exporting educational services

Mordovia State University has been actively operating in the export market of educational services since 1987. During this period, more than 1,000 citizens of 70 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa and America studied at the university, including graduate students who wrote their thesis for the degree of Candidate of Sciences. The intensification of activities in the field of training foreign citizens is linked to the acquisition of the status of a national research university in 2010 .

 

Currently, 2,367 foreign citizens from more than 54 far and near countries are studying at the university in various colleges and institutes. They are from :
